Hiking the Gila National Forest 

The Gila is home to over 1,000 miles of remote and scenic hiking trails. You'll find trails for all levels of experience, from easy strolls to challenging hikes.

Mountain Biking

The Gila National Forest and nearby Silver City are also great places for mountain biking. There are trails for all levels of experience, from beginner to expert.

Fishing

A favorite summer pastime for many,  nearby Lake Roberts is a popular spot for fishing. You can catch a variety of trout and other species.

Wildlife Viewing

 The Gila National Forest is home to a variety of wildlife, including deer, elk, bears, and mountain lions. If you're lucky, you may see one on your local adventure!

Catwalk Trail

This moderate 2.4 mile out-and-back trail offers stunning views of the Mimbres River Valley and the surrounding mountains. It's a perfect spot to escape from the midday summer heat!
